On 3 September 2010, lawyer Li Decheng, a senior partner of JT&N, was invited by China Intellectual Property News to share his opinions on the securitization of IPR. He analyzed the problems and defects with the relevant systems in China on the basis of legislation, and provided specific suggestions on the risk isolation mechanism of IPR securitization. Li also said in the interview that obstacles to the protection and industrialization of IPR still remain, even as China is promoting the securitization of IPR. For instance, IPR infringing behaviors eat into the cash flow in the securitization of IPR, negatively affecting future revenues. As for defects of IPR, he suggested conducting value appraisals and research of IPR when selecting the targets of securitization.
