On September 19, 2019, China Law & Practice (CL&P), part of the American Lawyer Media Group, recognized the winners of the coveted 2019 “China Law & Practice Awards” in an awards ceremony and dinner gala in Beijing. In attendance were representatives of dozens of top law firms and in-house legal teams.
This year, the Jincheng Tongda & Neal (JT&N) International Trade and WTO Practice was honored by selection as the China “Trade Firm of the Year,” edging out a number of other finalists in this highly competitive category.
The JT&N International Trade and WTO Practice, established in 1998, is one of the leading international trade law teams in China. The founding members of the Practice were among the first PRC lawyers to provide manufacturers and exporters with legal advice on PRC anti-dumping regulations. Today, the Practice continues to represent large numbers of Chinese manufacturers and exporters in response to numerous trade investigations in foreign jurisdictions, and is perennially ranked among the best in China and routinely ranked among the top International Trade and WTO practices in the annual Chambers Asia-Pacific and Global Guides, among other leading international appraisals.
The JT&N International Trade and WTO Practice incorporates focused knowledge, including both specialist understanding of an array of industries, such as ceramics, steel and rubber, among others, as well as deep insights into the constantly evolving legal framework for international trade transactions, including extensive experience with the trade remedy laws of other jurisdictions. The Practice is led by experienced partners and is supported by a deep bench of highly qualified affiliated team members with strong expertise in a wide range of different practice areas, encompassing extensive experience in cases involving a wide range of industries, including those that are highly regulated.
In addition to Trade Firm of the Year, JT&N’s highly-ranked Project & Energy, Healthcare & Life Science Practices also earned accolades, winning “Finalist” recognition in their respective categories. Additionally, the Huajin Ami Petrochemical Project, which JT&N participated in, earned recognition as a “Deal of the Year” Finalist.
According to CL&P’s announcement, the 2019 winners were determined on the basis of surveys that focused on the influence of law firms and attorney teams inside the legal industry and customer evaluations, as well as contributions to China’s legal industry. All research and judging was conducted by the editorial teams of ALM’s China Law & Practice, The Asian Lawyer, The American Lawyer, and Legal Week.
