In May 2013, JT&N lawyers Liang Feng, Zhang Ying and Wu Xia formed a special legal service team and fully involved themselves in settling the collective labor dispute event arising from the China-based cooperation project of the Embassy of the Swiss Confederation in China. Through the active efforts of our lawyers, the parties finally reached an amicable settlement and the dispute was properly solved. The settlement has helped establish and maintain the good international image of the Swiss Embassy in China and was highly praised by the representatives of the Swiss Embassy.
Three years ago, the Embassy of the Swiss Confederation in China carried out an environmental protection project in cooperation with a Chinese organization. In March 2013, the project was terminated upon expiration, and the project office was closed. During the severance and relocation process of the office employees, the laborers lodged a large claim and even appealed to the headquarters in Berne, Switzerland for a solution to their demands. The parties were in a deadlock without a solution and the situation even became quite tense and severe for a time. It was under such circumstances that the Swiss Embassy came for help from Liang Feng, partner of JT&N and the group leader of the Labor Law practice. After accepting the engagement, JT&N immediately set up a special legal service project team headed by Liang Feng and provided the Swiss Embassy with special legal services by providing legal advices and taking part in negotiations. Finally, after many rounds of negotiations among our lawyers on behalf of the Swiss Embassy, the domestic cooperation organization and the office employees, the organization and the employees signed the relevant legal documents on settlement drafted by our lawyers. That brought to a satisfactory settlement to the collective labor dispute and thus a collective labor dispute that was about to break out was successfully settled.
