Asset management has become the most significant area in China’s financial opening-up. In order to assist overseas asset management institutions in get familiar with China, and Beijing’s financial market environment and preferential policies, Beijing Guidebook for Overseas Assets Management Institutions (the “Guidebook”) was published at an online exchange meeting about asset management among related authorities of Beijing and London on June 16th. JT&N senior partners Guohua (Annie) Wu and Biaochong Chen were invited to compile Chapter III of the Guidebook – Establishment of Asset management Companies and Record-Filing of Asset Management Products – the most informative chapter.
Under the guidance of Beijing Local Financial Supervision and Administration, The People’s Bank of China Operations Office (Beijing) and China Banking and Insurance Regulatory Commission Beijing Bureau, Asset Management Association of China, Beijing Asset Management Association, Beijing Private Equity Association and CFA Institute have jointly compiled the Guidebook. The Guidebook aims to help overseas asset management institutions who establish their business presence in Beijing with their research on company establishment and products record-filing and their understanding towards preferential tax treatment on asset management, and provide overseas investors with insights and pathways into the financial market in Beijing as a whole.
About the Authors
Ms. Guohua (Annie) WU is a recognized authority on cross-border mergers and acquisitions and private equity transactions, and Ms. Wu’s clients include some of the largest funds and industrial companies in China and the world. Prior to joining the firm, Mr. Chen worked for a trust company and general office of provincial government.
